New Artist: Wendy Warren

July 28th, 2008 - 2:06 pm

As a company Collier & Dobson have built a strong reputation for wildlife art. Therefore for us to show another wildlife artist the work must be of the very highest quality.

Needless to say Wendy Warren’s pastels certainly fitted the bill. From the moment we saw them it was clear that that her pictures were something special.

Wendy’s paintings possess an intimacy and warmth that is so often missing in other wildlife art and her composition always seem fresh and original.

What also impressed us about Wendy Warren is how she has mastered one of the most challenging mediums, pastel. This is a difficult way to create pictures at the best of times so Wendy’s use of it is all the more admirable.

New Artist: Charlotte Lyon

July 28th, 2008 - 2:04 pm

We are always excited to welcome any new artist to our portfolio and Charlotte Lyon is no exception.

Charlotte has a distinguished artistic background, her grandfather was principal of Edinburgh School of Art and her father a sculptor, yet this alone would not justify our enthusiasm for her work.

It is her confident style that attracted us and the many collectors of her work. Often painting on wood panel, her paintings have a wonderful texture to them. Charlotte is a confident painter and her subjects have an intriguing simplicity about them.

With a range of limited editions now available, as well as a selection of originals, her work will reach an even wider audience of fine art collectors.
